Prepare the cabbage by slicing the 1/2 head of green cabbage into thick wedges. Set aside.

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet or pan over high heat until shimmering. Carefully add the cabbage wedges to the hot pan in a single layer. Sear the cabbage for 4-6 minutes per side, or until deeply caramelized and browned.

While the cabbage sears, prepare the miso butter sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the 1/4 cup butter, 1 tablespoon miso paste, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, and 1 teaspoon sesame oil until the mixture is well combined and smooth.

Once the cabbage is caramelized, reduce the heat to medium-low. Pour the whisked miso butter mixture evenly over the caramelized cabbage in the pan. Continue to cook, gently turning the cabbage occasionally, until it is fork-tender, about 5-7 minutes.

While the cabbage finishes cooking, bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the egg noodles and cook according to their package directions until al dente. Drain the noodles thoroughly.

Add the drained egg noodles directly to the pan with the caramelized cabbage and miso butter sauce. Toss all ingredients together thoroughly to ensure the noodles and cabbage are well coated with the flavorful sauce.

Serve the Caramelized Cabbage & Miso Butter Noodles immediately. Garnish each serving with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and a spoonful of chili crunch, as desired.
