Preheat your oven to 425°F.

Spray an 8-inch baking dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Add 1 cup of dry long-grain white rice to the prepared baking dish.

Pour in the 10 fluid ounces of French onion soup.

Add the 10 fluid ounces of beef consommé.

Stir in 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.

Add 8 ounces of cleaned and sliced mushrooms to the dish.

Stir all the ingredients together thoroughly in the baking dish until well combined.

Evenly place 1/4 cup of sliced butter over the top of the mixture.

Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.

Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.

After 40 minutes, carefully remove the foil.

Sprinkle Parmesan cheese generously over the top of the rice and mushroom mixture.

Return the uncovered dish to the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the cheese is golden.

Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and let it stand for a couple of minutes to allow the liquids to redistribute.

Fluff the mushroom rice with a fork before serving.

(Optional) If serving as a main dish, mix in the cooked, chopped chicken before serving.
