Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

Cut the butter into slices and place them on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Add the vanilla extract over the butter.

Pour the marshmallows into the dish, spreading them evenly over the butter and vanilla.

Fill the remaining gaps with the Rice Krispies cereal up to the rim of the pan. Reserve the remaining cereal from the 9 ounce box for later.
