Take two pieces of kirimochi and cut them into small cubes.

Place the cut mochi cubes into a microwave-safe bowl. Add 120 ml milk and 1/2 tablespoon sugar to the bowl with the mochi.

Microwave the mixture for 3 minutes and 30 seconds at 600 watts. Adjust time as needed until the mochi is completely melted (American microwaves might be stronger, so adjust accordingly).

After microwaving, stir the mixture thoroughly with a spatula until the mochi is completely melted and smooth, with no bits remaining. It should form a thick, smooth paste.

Crack 2 eggs directly into the smooth mochi mixture.

Mix the eggs into the mochi mixture really thoroughly until completely smooth and well combined. The consistency should be uniform and yellowish.

Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat.

Pour the entire mochi-egg mixture into the pan. Place a lid on the pan and cook.

Once the bottom is golden brown and the top is mostly set, fold the French toast in half using a spatula. Cover the pan with the lid again to allow the inside to cook through.

Transfer the Mochi French Toast to a plate. Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with maple syrup. Serve with fresh strawberries on the side.
