In a large cast iron skillet, combine the mild Italian sausage and ground beef. Cook over medium-high heat, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until both are fully browned.

While the meats are browning, season liberally with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to your personal preference.

Once the meats are cooked, carefully drain any excess grease from the skillet.

Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cheese tortellini and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain well.

Preheat your oven to 350°F.

To the skillet with the browned and drained meat, add the marinara sauce. Place the softened cream cheese block directly on top of the meat and sauce mixture.

Stir the cream cheese into the meat and marinara sauce until it is fully melted and well combined, creating a creamy meat sauce.

Add the cooked and drained tortellini to the skillet with the meat sauce. Mix thoroughly to ensure all the tortellini are coated.

Evenly spread a generous layer of shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the tortellini and meat sauce mixture in the skillet.

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, turn on the broiler. Broil for 1 to 2 minutes, watching carefully, until the mozzarella cheese is melted, bubbly, and has a nice golden-brown color on top.

Carefully remove the skillet from the oven. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Serve hot, enjoying the melted, stretchy cheese.
