Preheat your oven to 350°F. Place the flanked style short ribs in a large bowl. Add the vegetable oil, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, adobo seasoning, salt, black pepper, ground red pepper, and dry thyme to the bowl. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly with your hands, ensuring the ribs are well coated with the seasoning.

Heat a large, oven-safe pan or Dutch oven with a small amount of additional oil (if needed) over medium-high heat. Carefully place the seasoned short ribs into the hot pan. Sear the ribs on all sides until they are nicely browned and have a crust, about 2-3 minutes per side.

If not using an oven-safe pan, transfer the seared short ribs to a baking dish. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. Place the covered dish into the preheated oven and bake for 3 hours.

Once baked, remove the short ribs from the oven. Let them rest, still covered, for a few minutes before serving. The ribs should be tender enough to easily pull apart with a fork.
