Add the scooped avocado flesh, unsweetened cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, almond milk, and salt to a food processor or high-speed blender.

Process on high until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the food processor a few times to ensure everything is incorporated.

Taste the mousse and adjust sweetness or cocoa intensity if desired by adding more maple syrup or cocoa powder. Process again briefly to combine.

Spoon the mousse into individual serving dishes or ramekins.

Cover the dishes with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the mousse to chill and firm up. This also helps to enhance the flavors.

Before serving, garnish with fresh berries, shaved chocolate, and/or a few mint leaves, if desired.
