Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a standard 12-cup muffin tin with muffin liners.

In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients: almond flour, protein powder, sugar substitute, baking powder, and salt. Whisk these ingredients together until they are well mixed and no lumps remain.

In a separate medium bowl, mash the banana thoroughly. Add the milk, egg, and vanilla extract to the mashed banana. Whisk these wet ingredients together until well combined.

Pour the wet ingredient mixture into the bowl containing the dry ingredients. Stir the mixture gently with a spatula or spoon until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can lead to tough muffins.

Gently fold in the chocolate chips into the batter until they are evenly distributed.

Distribute the prepared batter evenly among the 12 muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full.

Place the muffin tin into the preheated oven and bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.

Once baked, remove the muffins from the oven and let them cool in the muffin tin for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
