Heat the olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, diced carrots, and diced celery. Sauté for 8-10 minutes, or until the vegetables have softened.

Add the minced garlic to the pot and cook for another 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

Stir in the canned diced tomatoes (undrained), vegetable broth, dried oregano, and dried basil. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Add the rinsed and drained cannellini beans and the small pasta to the pot. Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
