In a large bowl, combine the broccoli florets, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss everything together until the broccoli is evenly coated.

Spread the seasoned broccoli in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Ensure not to overcrowd the pan, as this will steam the broccoli instead of roasting it. Use two baking sheets if necessary.
