Preheat your oven to 170°C fan forced.

In a medium bowl, combine the Woolworths chocolate cake mix and the melted butter. Mix until fully combined and a crumbly mixture forms.

Press the combined mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of a lined 10 x 10 baking tray. Set the prepared base aside.

In a separate large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the softened cream cheese, eggs, caster sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

Gently fold the chopped chocolate chunks into the smooth cheesecake mixture.

Carefully pour the cheesecake mixture over the prepared chocolate cake base in the baking tray. Spread the mixture evenly with a spatula.

Bake the cheesecake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the center is just slightly wobbly when gently shaken. It will set further as it cools.

Once baked, remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool completely at room temperature. This can take 1-2 hours.

After cooling, slice the cheesecake into squares.

Store the sliced cheesecake in the fridge until ready to serve.
