Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Drop 1 pound of ground beef into a hot, oiled pan. Break it up with a wooden spatula, brown it thoroughly, then drain any excess fat.

Add 1 packet of taco seasoning, 1/2 cup of salsa, and 1 can of diced green chilis to the browned ground beef. Stir this mixture together until it is beautifully combined. Once combined, set the meat mixture aside.

Grab the 11 oz bag of tortilla chips. Gently break them up into smaller pieces. Transfer the broken chips into a large mixing bowl.

Add the prepared meat mixture on top of the chips in the mixing bowl. Pour in the large can of enchilada sauce and add a big handful of shredded cheese.

Using a spatula or your hands, mix all the ingredients in the bowl together thoroughly. Ensure the chips are nicely coated with the meat mixture and sauce.

Transfer the entire mixture from the mixing bowl into a greased 9x13 baking dish, spreading it evenly. Add another layer of shredded cheese on top of the mixture in the baking dish. Cover the baking dish with foil.

Place the covered dish in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 45 minutes.

Once the dish comes out of the oven, carefully remove the foil. If you prefer your cheese a little more toasted, you can return it to the oven uncovered for a short period. Let it cool off for about 10 minutes before serving.

Serve a portion on a plate. Top with sour cream and sliced black olives, if desired. Enjoy!
