To make the raspberry syrup, combine fresh raspberries, granulated sugar, and 1/2 cup of water in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the raspberries soften, about 3-5 minutes.

Remove the saucepan from heat. Mash the raspberries gently with a fork or potato masher to extract more juice. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing on the solids to extract all the liquid. Discard the solids. Let the raspberry syrup cool completely.

In a large pitcher, combine the cooled raspberry syrup and fresh lime juice. Stir well to combine.

Fill four glasses with ice. Divide the raspberry-lime mixture evenly among the glasses.

Top each glass with chilled sparkling water. Garnish with fresh raspberries and a lime slice. Serve immediately.
