Peel the 500 grams of potatoes and cut them into evenly sized pieces.

Place the potato pieces in a medium pot, cover them with cold water, and bring to a boil. Cook for 15 minutes, or until fork-tender.

While the potatoes are cooking, place the 500 grams of fish in a separate pot, cover with water, and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 10 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily.

Take the 2 slices of bread, remove the crusts, and tear the bread into small pieces. Place the bread pieces in a small bowl.

Pour the 100 ml of milk over the torn bread pieces and mix them gently to ensure the bread is fully soaked. Set aside.

Once the potatoes are boiled, carefully drain all the water and transfer them to a large mixing bowl. Mash them thoroughly until smooth.

Once the fish is boiled, drain the water. Using a fork, flake the fish into the bowl with the mashed potatoes, being careful to remove any bones.

Add the soaked bread mixture, 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper to the bowl with the fish and potatoes.

Mix all the ingredients thoroughly with your hands until well combined and a cohesive mixture forms.

Take portions of the mixture (about 1/4 cup each) and shape them into fish cakes (patties) of your desired size and thickness.

Heat a generous amount of oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the shaped fish cakes into the pan. Fry for 3-5 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides.

Remove the fried fish cakes from the pan and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil. Serve immediately, garnished with a slice of lemon and fresh parsley.
