Take 3 small cucumbers. Trim off both ends of each cucumber. Slice each cucumber lengthwise into two halves. Place the halves cut-side down and slice them lengthwise again into thin strips. Then, slice crosswise to finely dice the cucumbers. Transfer the finely diced cucumbers into a large mixing bowl.

Take 1 tomato. Cut the tomato in half. Using a spoon, scoop out and discard the seeds and watery pulp from both halves, leaving only the firm flesh. Slice the deseeded tomato halves into thin strips, then dice them finely. Add the finely diced tomato to the bowl with the cucumbers.

Take 1 red onion. Cut the onion in half. Place one half cut-side down. Make several horizontal cuts almost to the root, then several vertical cuts. Finally, slice across to finely dice the red onion. Add the finely diced red onion to the bowl.

Take a bunch of fresh mint. Pluck the mint leaves from their stems. Gather the leaves and finely chop them. Add the chopped mint to the bowl.

Take a bunch of fresh parsley. Finely chop the parsley. Add the chopped parsley to the bowl.

Take 1 lemon. Cut the lemon in half. Squeeze the juice from half of the lemon directly into the bowl over the chopped ingredients.

Drizzle a generous amount of olive oil over the ingredients in the bowl. Add a pinch of salt and a grind of black pepper to taste.

Using two forks, thoroughly mix all the ingredients until well combined. The Shirazi salad is now ready to be served.
