Pull back the husks of each ear of corn, but do not remove them. Remove all the silk from the corn kernels. You can use a damp paper towel to help with this. Once clean, pull the husks back up to cover the corn.

Soak the husked corn in a large bowl of cold water for at least 10 minutes. This helps prevent the husks from burning and steams the corn as it grills.

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F).

While the grill is heating, in a small bowl, combine the melted butter, salt, black pepper, and paprika (if using). Set aside.

Remove the corn from the water and shake off any excess. Place the corn directly on the preheated grill, with the husks still on. Close the lid.

Grill the corn for 15-20 minutes, turning every 5 minutes, until the husks are charred and the corn kernels are tender. The husks will protect the corn from direct flame and help steam it.

Carefully remove the corn from the grill. Pull back the husks (they will be hot) and use tongs or a clean kitchen towel to hold the corn. Brush generously with the seasoned melted butter.

Serve immediately, garnished with fresh chopped cilantro if desired.
