Prepare your double boiler. In the top pot, combine the 1 stick of butter and 10 marshmallows. Place over simmering water and melt completely, stirring occasionally until smooth. Remove from heat once melted.

In a separate heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the 2 cups of granulated sugar and 3/4 cup of undiluted evaporated milk. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly to prevent scorching. Boil for exactly 1 minute.

Immediately remove the sugar and milk mixture from the heat. Pour the hot sugar mixture into the melted butter and marshmallow mixture. Stir well to combine.

Add the 1/2 cup of chopped nut meats and 1 1/2 packages of chocolate chips to the fudge mixture. Stir vigorously until all the chocolate chips are completely melted and the mixture is smooth and well combined.

Pour the hot fudge mixture into a buttered 8x8 inch or 9x9 inch baking dish. Spread evenly with a spatula.

Place the dish in the refrigerator and chill for at least 3 hours, or until the fudge is firm and set.

Once firm, remove the fudge from the refrigerator, cut into squares, and serve.
