Place one sugar cube in the bottom of each of four old fashioned glasses. Add 1/4 teaspoon of Angostura bitters to each sugar cube.

Muddle the sugar cube and bitters together until the sugar is mostly dissolved.

Add one brandied cherry to each glass and gently muddle it with the sugar mixture.

Pour 2 fluid ounces of bourbon into each glass.

Add a large ice cube or several smaller ice cubes to each glass.

Stir gently for about 30 seconds to chill and dilute the cocktail.
