Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add diced yellow onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Add minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in the orzo pasta, salt, and black pepper.

Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

Uncover the pot and stir in the chopped broccoli florets. Continue to cook, uncovered, for another 5 minutes, or until the orzo is al dente and most of the liquid has been absorbed.

Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the pot. Stir well and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

Remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the lump crab meat, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, and heavy cream until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.

Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
