Sort through the 1 pound of small red beans to remove any debris, then rinse them thoroughly under cold water.

Rinse the large smoked turkey leg.

Add the rinsed red beans and the smoked turkey leg to the crockpot.

Chop the 2 ribs of celery, 1 green bell pepper, and 1 onion. Mince the 6 cloves of garlic.

Add the chopped celery, bell pepper, onion, and minced garlic to the crockpot.

Place the block of butter into the crockpot.

Season the ingredients in the crockpot with 2 tablespoons of chicken bouillon, 1 tablespoon of smoked paprika, 1 tablespoon of onion powder, 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, and 1 tablespoon of black pepper.

Pour in the 8 cups of chicken broth.

Cover the crockpot and cook on the low setting for 8 hours.

Once cooking is complete, carefully remove the smoked turkey leg from the crockpot. The meat should be very tender and easily fall off the bone. Discard the bones.

Shred or chop the turkey meat and return it to the crockpot. Stir the red beans and turkey mixture well to combine all ingredients.

Serve the Crockpot Red Beans and Rice hot over cooked white rice, with Louisiana hot sauce and cornbread on the side, as desired.
