Preheat your air fryer to 160°C (320°F) for 3 minutes.

Slice each of the 8 dinner rolls in half horizontally, making sure to keep them connected as one piece.

In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Mix until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

Spread half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the bottom half of the sliced rolls. Place the top half of the rolls back on, then spread the remaining mixture evenly over the top.

Carefully place the prepared rolls into the air fryer basket. Air fry at 160°C (320°F) for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cinnamon-sugar mixture is bubbling.

While the rolls are air frying, prepare the cream cheese frosting. In a medium bowl, beat the room temperature butter and softened cream cheese together until smooth. Add the powdered sugar, a pinch of salt, and the vanilla extract (if using). Beat until combined. Gradually beat in the milk, a little at a time, until the frosting is creamy and has a smooth, spreadable consistency.

Once the cinnamon rolls are done, let them cool slightly for about 5 minutes. While still warm, spread the cream cheese frosting generously over the tops of the rolls.
