In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef (or lamb), chopped red onion, chopped red bell pepper, chopped green bell pepper, and chopped fresh parsley.

Add the salt, black pepper, ground cumin, and paprika to the meat and vegetable mixture.

Using your hands, thoroughly mix all the ingredients until they are well combined and the spices are evenly distributed throughout the meat.

Carefully open each pita bread to create a pocket. Take a portion of the meat mixture and spread an even layer inside one half of the pita bread, ensuring it's pressed down firmly and covers the entire surface.

Lightly brush the outer surface of the pita bread (the side without the meat) with olive oil. This will help with browning and crispiness.

Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) or your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the prepared arayes into the air fryer basket or onto a baking sheet, ensuring not to overcrowd.

Cook the arayes in the air fryer for 10-15 minutes, or in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Halfway through the cooking time (after about 5-7 minutes in the air fryer or 8-10 minutes in the oven), carefully flip the arayes to ensure even browning and crispiness on both sides. Continue cooking until the meat is cooked through and the pita is golden brown and crispy.

Once cooked and golden brown, remove the arayes from the heat. Let them rest for a minute or two before cutting.

Cut each arayes into wedges and serve immediately. Enjoy!
