Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat the apples evenly.

Pour the apple mixture into an 8x8 inch baking dish or individual ramekins.

In a separate medium bowl, combine the rolled oats, 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour, brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon.

Add the cold butter pieces to the oat mixture. Using your fingertips or a pastry blender, cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Evenly sprinkle the oat topping over the apple filling in the baking dish.

Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender and bubbling.

Let the crumble cool for at least 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm.
