Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a pan, combine the peeled and sliced apples, 35–50g brown sugar, 15–20g butter, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and a pinch of salt.

Cook the apple mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the apples soften and become glossy and caramelized. This should take about 10-15 minutes.

Divide the cooked apple filling evenly into four individual ramekins.

In a separate bowl, combine 100g cold butter, 110g plain flour, 25g brown sugar, 50g white sugar, 1/2–1 teaspoon cinnamon, a pinch of nutmeg, and a pinch of salt.

Using your fingertips, rub the ingredients together until the mixture forms a crumbly texture.

Evenly pile the crumble topping over the apple filling in each ramekin.

Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 20–25 minutes, or until the crumble topping is golden brown and the apple filling is bubbling.

For an extra crispy top, broil the crumbles for 2 minutes at the end of the baking time. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.

Serve the apple crumble warm, optionally topped with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
