Bring 4 cups of filtered water to a rolling boil in a kettle or saucepan.

Place one English breakfast tea bag into each of four heat-proof mugs or a teapot.

Carefully pour the hot water over the tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on desired strength. For a stronger brew, steep longer.

Remove the tea bags from the mugs or teapot. Serve immediately. Offer milk and sugar on the side for guests to add to their preference.
