Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. (Skip this step if using an air fryer).

In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, white granulated sugar, and kosher salt. Mix well with a fork.

Add the cold butter pieces to the dry ingredients. Cut the butter into the flour mixture using a pastry blender or your fingertips until pea-sized pieces form.

Pour in the milk and stir with a fork until all ingredients are moistened and just combined.

Lightly flour a clean surface. Turn the dough out onto the floured surface and gently press it together. Divide the dough in half. Take one half, fold it over a couple of times to create layers, then press it into a circle approximately 3/4 inch thick. Repeat with the other half of the dough.

Place the formed biscuits on the lined baking sheet. Transfer the baking sheet to the refrigerator until the oven finishes preheating. Keeping the dough cold before baking is important for a flaky texture.

Bake in the preheated oven for 13-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and have crisp edges.

Alternatively, for an air fryer variation, air fry the biscuits at 390 degrees F for 9-11 minutes, or until they are golden brown with crisp edges.

Serve the biscuits warm, or enjoy them at room temperature.
