Gather all ingredients. If using fresh turmeric root, thinly slice the 1-inch piece.

In a small saucepan, combine the rosemary (fresh or dried), thinly sliced fresh turmeric root, and whole cinnamon sticks.

Pour 2 cups of water into the saucepan with the herbs and spices.
