Bring 8 cups of water to a rolling boil in a large pot. Add 1 tablespoon of salt. Add the pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain the pasta and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process and cool it down. Set aside to cool completely.

While the pasta is cooling, prepare the dressing. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, granulated sugar, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled pasta, diced red bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, blanched and diced asparagus, red onion, chopped fresh parsley, chopped fresh mint, rinsed chickpeas, and dried cranberries.
