Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

In a small mixing bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped fresh parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Place the two halves of the French baguette, cut-side up, on the prepared baking sheet. Generously spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut surfaces of both baguette halves.
Bake the garlic bread in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the butter is melted and fragrant.

Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese over both halves of the garlic bread. If using, sprinkle the red pepper flakes over the cheese.

Return the cheesy garlic bread to the oven and bake for an additional 7 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown. Keep a close eye on it to prevent burning.
Once baked, carefully remove the cheesy garlic bread from the oven. Let it cool for a minute or two before slicing into individual portions with a serrated knife. Serve warm and enjoy!
