Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides to easily lift the brownies out later.

In a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water (double boiler method), melt the 110g butter and 170g chocolate together, stirring occasionally, until smooth and fully combined. Alternatively, you can melt them in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth.

Remove the bowl from the heat and mix in the 200g granulated sugar until well combined.

Add the 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to the mixture and stir until just combined and smooth.

In a separate bowl, sift together the 80g all-purpose flour, 20g cocoa powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Gently fold in the 45g chocolate chunks into the brownie batter.

Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.

Add spoonfuls of Nutella randomly over the top of the batter in the pan. You can use as much or as little as you like.

Carefully spoon the remaining brownie batter over the Nutella layer, spreading it evenly to cover the Nutella completely.

Sprinkle extra chocolate chunks generously over the top of the brownie batter.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is crackly and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs, indicating a fudgy center.

Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and immediately sprinkle a pinch of salt over the top, if desired.

Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting them out using the parchment paper overhang and cutting them into squares. This ensures they set properly and are easier to cut.
