Preheat your oven to 180°C. Line a round cake tin with baking paper and lightly oil it.

In a large bowl, whisk together the oil, eggs, and natural yoghurt until the mixture is smooth and creamy. This forms the wet base for the cake.

Add the self-raising flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and chocolate chips to the wet mixture. Stir with a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter.

Pour the chocolate batter into the prepared cake tin. Smooth out the top of the batter.

Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool completely in the tin, then transfer to a wire rack.

While the cake is baking, prepare the icing. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the cream and dark chocolate chips. Heat in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir with a spatula until the mixture is silky smooth. Set aside to cool completely.

Once both the cake and the icing have cooled completely, generously pour and spread the chocolate icing over the top of the cake using a spatula.
