Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides to easily lift the cake out later.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, brown sugar, melted and cooled butter, room temperature eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined and smooth.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and cinnamon powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, folding gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter.

Pour the cake batter into the prepared 8x8 inch baking pan and spread evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-33 minutes, or until a wooden skewer or toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. This will take approximately 45-60 minutes.

While the cake is cooling, prepare the salted caramel frosting. In a medium bowl, using an electric mixer, whip the room temperature butter until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Gradually add the powdered sugar to the whipped butter, mixing on low speed until incorporated, then increase speed to medium and beat until smooth. Mix in the vanilla extract and 1/2 cup of caramel sauce until well combined. If the frosting is too soft, chill it in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to firm up.

Once the cake has completely cooled, spread the salted caramel frosting evenly over the top of the cake.

Drizzle additional caramel sauce over the frosted cake and sprinkle with flaky sea salt for an extra touch of flavor and presentation.

Slice and serve immediately. Enjoy your delicious Salted Caramel Banana Cake!
