Prepare the broccolini by trimming off the tough ends of the stalks. If the stalks are very thick, you can halve them lengthwise to ensure even cooking.

Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the trimmed broccolini to the hot pan. Season with salt and black pepper.

Sauté the broccolini, tossing occasionally with tongs, for 7-9 minutes, or until it is tender-crisp and slightly charred in spots. Remove from heat and set aside.

While the broccolini cooks, prepare the ground sesame seeds for the dressing. Pour the toasted sesame seeds into a mortar and grind with a pestle until they are visibly broken down into a coarse, flour-like texture. Alternatively, you can finely chop them or pulse them in a small food processor.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the ground sesame seeds, Kewpie mayonnaise, Calabrian chili paste, fresh lemon juice, honey, and sesame oil. Whisk all the ingredients together until the dressing is smooth and well combined.

Transfer the cooked broccolini to a serving platter. Generously spoon the Calabrian sesame dressing over the broccolini.

If desired, garnish with a sprinkle of red pepper flakes and/or additional toasted sesame seeds before serving immediately.
