Add the sliced flank steak (or stew meat), sliced yellow onion, minced garlic cloves, beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ground ginger, pepper, and chili flakes into the crockpot.

Stir all the ingredients in the crockpot thoroughly to combine.

Place the lid securely on the crockpot and cook on high for 4 hours.

After 4 hours, carefully remove the lid and add the fresh broccoli florets into the crockpot. Stir gently to submerge the broccoli in the sauce.

Replace the lid on the crockpot and continue to cook for an additional 30 minutes.

While the broccoli is cooking, prepare the cornstarch slurry: In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup cornstarch with 1/4 cup cold water. Whisk until there are no clumps and the mixture is smooth.

After the broccoli has cooked for 30 minutes, check through the glass lid to ensure the broth is simmering.

Quickly remove the lid, pour in the cornstarch slurry, and stir immediately to incorporate it into the sauce. Promptly replace the lid.

Allow the beef and broccoli to cook for another 15 to 20 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.

Once thickened, the Crockpot Beef and Broccoli is ready to serve. Enjoy over rice.
