Dice the onion. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a sauté pan over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Lower the heat to low and continue cooking the onions, stirring every few minutes, until they are golden and caramelized. This will take about 25 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a separate pan, brown the 1 pound of ground beef. Season with salt and pepper to taste, breaking the beef into crumbles as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.

Preheat your oven to 350°F. Slice the 12-pack Hawaiian butter rolls through the center horizontally, separating the top and bottom halves. Place the bottom half of the rolls onto a baking sheet.

Layer 6 slices of American cheese over the bottom half of the rolls. Evenly spread the crumbled ground beef over the cheese.

Spread the caramelized onions over the ground beef. Top with the remaining 4 slices of American cheese.

In a small bowl, combine the diced dill pickle, 2 tablespoons of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, and 1 tablespoon of mustard for the Secret Sauce. Stir until well combined.

Spread the prepared Secret Sauce evenly over the top layer of cheese and fillings. Carefully place the top layer of buns over the fillings.

For the Garlic Butter, melt 1/4 stick of butter with 1/2 teaspoon of garlic salt in a small bowl in the microwave for 20-30 seconds, or until melted.

Brush the melted garlic butter generously over the tops of the buns.

Bake the sliders in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the tops are golden brown.

Remove from the oven, slice into individual sliders, and serve immediately. To reheat, microwave for 25 seconds.
