In a medium bowl, combine the Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, low sodium chicken broth, brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, dried oregano, dried thyme, Cajun seasoning, cayenne pepper, ground black pepper, and salt. Whisk all the ingredients together until thoroughly combined.

Thinly slice the large sweet onion. Take the all beef hot dogs and carefully score them lengthwise down the middle, creating a pocket or slit without cutting all the way through.

Place the scored hot dogs and the thinly sliced sweet onions into a shallow dish. Pour the prepared marinade over them, ensuring both the hot dogs and onions are well coated. Cover the dish and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours, or ideally, overnight, to allow the flavors to infuse.

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the marinated hot dogs into the skillet. Sear them for 2-3 minutes per side until they achieve a nice browned crust.

Add the reserved marinade and the marinated sweet onions to the skillet with the seared hot dogs. Bring the liquid to a gentle simmer. Once simmering, reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let it cook for 15-20 minutes. This step allows the hot dogs to absorb the rich flavors of the marinade and the onions to soften.

Remove the hot dogs and onions from the skillet. Place each hot dog into a bun and generously top with the simmered onions. Add any desired additional toppings such as mustard, pickled jalapeños, or relish.
