Prepare the egg wash by whisking the egg and water together in a small bowl. Set aside.

Lay a wonton wrapper on a clean, dry surface with one corner pointing towards you (diamond shape). Place a mozzarella cheese stick near the bottom corner of the wrapper.

Fold the bottom corner of the wonton wrapper over the cheese stick. Fold in the left and right corners towards the center, creating an envelope shape.

Brush a small amount of the egg wash onto the top corner of the wrapper. Tightly roll the wrapper upwards from the bottom, sealing the cheese inside. Ensure the edges are well-sealed to prevent cheese from leaking during frying. Repeat with remaining cheese sticks and wrappers.

In a large, heavy-bottomed pot or deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a kitchen thermometer to ensure accurate temperature.

Carefully place 3-4 cheese rolls into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for 2-3 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy on all sides.

Using a slotted spoon or tongs, remove the fried cheese rolls from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Repeat the frying process with the remaining cheese rolls. Serve immediately with warm marinara sauce for dipping and a sprinkle of fresh parsley, if desired.
