In a bowl, combine 100 ml warm milk, 100 ml warm water, 10 g yeast, and 10 g sugar. Mix well until the yeast and sugar are dissolved. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to activate until it becomes foamy.

In a large bowl, add 500 g all purpose flour and 5 g salt. Mix these dry ingredients together.

Pour the activated yeast mixture into the flour mixture. Add 1 egg. Mix everything using a spatula until a shaggy dough forms.

Transfer the shaggy dough to a clean surface. Knead the dough by hand for 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and pliable.

Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Once the dough has risen, transfer it to a clean surface. Gently flatten the dough. Add 30 g of softened butter to the dough. Knead the butter into the dough until it is fully incorporated and the dough is smooth and elastic. This process may take 10-15 minutes, and you can perform a windowpane test to check for elasticity.

Place the dough back into the greased bowl. Cover and let it rise again in a warm place for 30 minutes.

Transfer the risen dough to a clean surface. Divide the dough into 9 equal pieces (using a kitchen scale is recommended for accuracy). Shape each piece into a smooth, round ball.

Grease a baking pan (a standard rectangular loaf/roll pan, approximately 9x13 inches, is suitable). Arrange the 9 dough balls evenly in the greased pan.

Cover the pan with plastic wrap. Let the dough balls rise for another 30 minutes until they have expanded and are touching each other.

Preheat your oven to 180°C.

In a small bowl, whisk together 1 egg yolk and 1 tablespoon milk to create an egg wash. Gently brush the top of the risen dough with this egg wash.

Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until it is golden brown on top.

Once the bread is out of the oven, immediately brush the tops with melted butter. This will help create a soft crust.

Let the bread cool slightly before pulling apart and serving.
