Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flaked imitation crab meat, softened cream cheese, sliced green onions, garlic powder, soy sauce, and optional MSG. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined and the mixture is smooth.

Transfer the crab rangoon mixture to an oven-safe baking dish. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the mixture is hot and bubbling around the edges.

While the crab rangoons are baking, prepare the sweet and sour sauce. In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, ketchup, white distilled vinegar, ground ginger, and pineapple or orange juice.

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally to ensure the sugar dissolves completely. Once simmering, remove from heat.

Carefully remove the crab rangoon dip from the oven. Serve hot with the homemade sweet and sour sauce for dipping, alongside wonton chips or crackers if desired.
