Melt the salted butter in a pan over low heat.

Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and warm through for about 2 minutes, being careful not to brown the garlic.

Pour the heavy cream into the pan with the butter and garlic. Bring the mixture to a light simmer for about 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add half of the coarsely ground Parmesan cheese to the simmering cream mixture. Whisk well until the cheese is fully incorporated and melted.

Add the remaining half of the Parmesan cheese and whisk again until it is completely melted and the sauce is smooth.

Let the sauce simmer gently for 1 to 2 minutes to allow it to thicken slightly. Keep an eye on it to prevent scorching.

Remove the pan from the heat. Taste the Alfredo sauce and season with salt and black pepper as needed. Serve immediately over your favorite pasta.
