In a large mixing bowl, combine the roughly chopped shrimp, roughly chopped imitation crab (or real crab if using), chopped green onions, egg whites, mayonnaise, ground black pepper, granulated sugar, garlic salt, onion powder, and MSG.

Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined. Ensure the shrimp and crab are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for 15 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld and the mixture to firm up slightly.

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare a baking pan by placing a cooling rack inside it, or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Take a generous spoonful of the shrimp and crab filling and spread it evenly over each slice of garlic toast. Be sure to cover the toast well, as nobody wants a skimpy topping.

Lightly sprinkle paprika over the top of each prepared toast for color and a hint of flavor.

Arrange the prepared garlic toast slices on the cooling rack in the baking pan, or directly on the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Bake on the middle rack of the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the topping is cooked through, golden brown, and slightly puffy. If you prefer them more toasty, add a few more minutes to the baking time.

Carefully remove the shrimp and crab garlic toast from the oven. Let them cool for a minute or two before serving. Enjoy your game day finger food!
