In a large pitcher or bowl, combine the unsweetened Kool-Aid green apple flavored drink mix, granulated sugar, and 2 cups of cold water. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Pour the Kool-Aid mixture into an ice cube tray or a shallow freezer-safe dish. Freeze for at least 3 hours, or until solid.

Once the Kool-Aid mixture is frozen, remove it from the freezer. If using an ice cube tray, pop out the cubes. If using a dish, break the frozen mixture into smaller chunks.

Place the frozen Kool-Aid cubes/chunks into a high-powered blender. Add the 4 cups of ice cubes.

Blend on high speed, pulsing initially, then blending continuously until the mixture is smooth and has a slushy consistency. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the blender with a spatula a few times to ensure everything is incorporated.

Pour the green apple slushies into serving glasses. Garnish each slushie with a few maraschino cherries.
