Slice one medium onion thinly. In a pan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and a pinch of salt to the pan.

Cook the onions for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are softened and lightly browned. Stir in 1 tablespoon of balsamic glaze and continue to cook for another 5 minutes until the onions are deeply caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.

In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon ketchup, 1 tablespoon sriracha, 1 teaspoon mustard, 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, and 1 tablespoon pickle relish. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined. Set the sauce aside.

In a separate small bowl, combine 1/4 cup softened butter, 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, and 2 cloves minced garlic. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly distributed. Slice the burger buns in half and spread the prepared garlic butter generously on the cut sides of each burger bun.

Divide 1 pound of ground beef into 4 equal, loose balls (approximately 4 ounces each). Heat a cast iron skillet or flat top over medium-high heat until very hot.

Place the beef balls onto the hot cooking surface. Immediately use a sturdy spatula to firmly smash each beef ball into a thin patty. Season the patties generously with salt and black pepper.

Cook for 2-3 minutes until a deep brown crust forms on the bottom. Flip each patty. Immediately place a slice of American cheese (or desired cheese) on top of each cooked patty.

Cover the skillet with a lid (or a dome if available) to help the cheese melt quickly, and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Remove the cooked patties from the skillet and set aside.

Place the garlic-buttered bun halves face down in the same hot skillet. Toast for 1-2 minutes until golden brown and fragrant.

To assemble each burger: Place a toasted bottom bun on a serving plate. Spread a generous amount of the homemade burger sauce on the bottom bun. Add a cheeseburger patty. Top with a spoonful of caramelized onions. Add a second cheeseburger patty. Spread more burger sauce on the top of the second patty. Place the toasted top bun to complete the burger. Serve immediately and enjoy.
