Preheat your oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded or diced cooked chicken breast, drained wax beans, condensed cream of chicken soup, milk, 1/2 cup of the shredded sharp cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.

Pour the chicken and wax bean mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread it out evenly with a spatula.

Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the casserole mixture.

In a small bowl, combine the crushed butter crackers and the melted unsalted butter. Stir until the cracker crumbs are evenly coated with butter.

Evenly sprinkle the buttery cracker topping over the layer of cheese on the casserole.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly around the edges and the cracker topping is golden brown and crispy.

Remove the casserole from the oven and let it stand for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the sauce to set slightly and prevents burns.
