In a medium-sized pot, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the minced garlic clove to the melted butter and cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Pour the chicken broth into the pot with the garlic and butter. Increase the heat to bring the broth to a rolling boil.

Once the broth is boiling, add the pastina pasta. Stir well to prevent sticking.

Cook the pastina according to package directions until it is al dente (tender but still firm to the bite). This usually takes about 5-7 minutes.

Carefully transfer the cooked pastina soup to individual serving bowls.

Squeeze the juice from approximately half a lemon into each bowl of soup. Adjust the amount to your taste.

Grate fresh Parmesan cheese generously over the top of the soup in each bowl.
