Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil for the pasta.

While the water heats, add the 1 pound of ground Italian sausage to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Use a meat chopper or spatula to break up the sausage and brown it thoroughly. Do not drain the drippings, as they add significant flavor.

Once the water is boiling, add the 1 pound of rotini pasta to the pot and cook according to package directions until al dente.

After the sausage is browned, add the entire 10-ounce bag of fresh spinach to the skillet with the sausage. Cover the skillet to help the spinach wilt and cook down.

Once the spinach has cooked down, add about half of the 6 ounces of shredded Parmesan cheese and the 1 cup of heavy cream to the sausage and spinach mixture in the skillet.

Season the mixture generously with garlic powder, black pepper, and salt to taste. Stir well to combine.

Drain the cooked pasta and add it directly to the skillet with the sausage, spinach, and cream sauce. Add the remaining half of the shredded Parmesan cheese.

Continue cooking for about 1 minute, stirring constantly until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is well combined with the pasta.

Serve the creamy sausage and spinach pasta hot and enjoy!
