In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, minced onion, minced garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper.

Mix all the patty ingredients thoroughly by hand until they are well combined and uniform.

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form each portion into a round, flat burger patty.

Heat a large pan over medium-high heat. Add enough oil to coat the bottom of the pan.

Carefully place the formed patties in the hot pan. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side, or until they are nicely browned and cooked through to your desired doneness.

Once cooked, remove the patties from the pan and set them aside on a plate.

Using the same pan (do not clean it), reduce the heat to medium. Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the pan and allow it to melt.

Add the 1 cup of sliced mushrooms to the pan and sauté them until they are softened, about 3-5 minutes.

Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour over the sautéed mushrooms. Stir well to combine the flour with the butter and mushrooms, creating a roux. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Gradually pour in the 2 cups of beef broth, stirring continuously to prevent lumps and ensure a smooth consistency for the gravy.

Season the gravy with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Stir to combine.

Bring the gravy to a simmer, stirring occasionally, until it thickens to your desired consistency.

Return the cooked beef burger patties to the pan with the mushroom gravy.

Let the patties simmer in the gravy for 2 to 3 minutes to heat through and allow them to absorb the rich flavors of the gravy.

Serve the Beef Burger Steak with Mushroom Gravy hot, ideally with a side of steamed rice.
