Break the plain biscuits into medium-sized pieces. Aim for pieces that are not too fine, retaining some texture. Place them in a large mixing bowl.

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the 125g of unsalted butter.

Add 100g granulated sugar, 25g cocoa powder, 120ml milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the melted butter in the saucepan.

Whisk the mixture continuously over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens slightly, approximately 3-5 minutes. It should be smooth and glossy.

Remove the saucepan from the heat. Add 50g of chopped dark chocolate to the hot mixture and stir until it completely melts and is well combined, forming a rich chocolate sauce.

Pour the warm chocolate sauce over the broken biscuits in the large mixing bowl. Gently fold the mixture until all the biscuit pieces are evenly coated with the chocolate sauce.

Line a loaf pan (approximately 20cm x 10cm) with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal. Pour the biscuit and chocolate mixture into the prepared pan.

Press the mixture down firmly and evenly into the pan using the back of a spoon or your hands. Cover the pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, until the cake is firm and set.

Once the cake is chilled, remove it from the pan using the parchment paper overhang. For an optional topping, use a vegetable peeler or a sharp knife to create chocolate shavings from a 100g chocolate bar.

Sprinkle the chocolate shavings over the top of the cake. Slice the "Lazy Cake" into desired portions and serve chilled.
