If your beetroot is not already cooked, boil or steam it until fork-tender. Once cooked, peel and cut the beetroot into 1-inch pieces. If your cabbage is not already steamed, steam the cabbage leaves until tender, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the prepared cooked beetroot pieces, steamed cabbage leaves, peeled banana, and cacao powder to a high-speed blender.

Pour in the maple syrup and 1/2 cup of water. Start blending on low, gradually increasing to high speed.

Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and uniform in color and consistency. If the smoothie is too thick, add additional water, 1-2 tablespoons at a time, until your desired consistency is reached.

Pour the finished smoothie into glasses and serve immediately.
