Season both sides of the chicken breasts generously with salt, black pepper, and paprika.

Heat the 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the seasoned chicken to the skillet and cook for 5 to 6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through to an internal temperature of 165°F.

Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate. Cover loosely with foil to keep warm.

Reduce the heat to medium and melt the 1 tablespoon of butter in the same skillet.

Add the 8 ounces of sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and lightly browned.

Stir in the 3 cloves of minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Pour in the 1/2 cup of chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet with a wooden spoon to deglaze.

Add the 1 cup of heavy cream, 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard, and 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning to the skillet.

Stir well to combine and bring the sauce to a gentle simmer.

Gradually stir in the 1/2 cup of grated Asiago cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.

Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon the sauce and mushrooms over the top of the chicken.

Simmer for 3 to 5 minutes, allowing the chicken to absorb the flavors and the sauce to thicken slightly.

Garnish with 2 tablespoons of fresh chopped parsley and serve hot with your choice of mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta.
